We have recently published the 2017-18 Public Accountability Measures (PAMs) guidance.

This dataset has been developed by the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) led Task and Finish group, in consultation with local authorities, and seeks to provide a clear and simple overview of local government performance.

The guidance includes detailed definitions for each measure, including comprehensive guidance for those measures we will collect directly from local authorities. We have also included information about how each of the PAMs may help local authorities demonstrate how they are contributing to the seven well-being goals.

We’ve recently published a report on the Social Worker Workforce Planning data 2015-16. The report aims to support local authorities and the Care Council for Wales (now Social Care Wales) in planning for future workforce needs and to inform the commissioning of social worker training in Wales.

The report shows the numbers of social workers working in local authorities in Adults’ Services, Children's Services and other areas. It also looks at the trends of the workforce over time, staff turnover and the projected workforce over the next three years.

Over 100 delegates attended our fifth National Intelligence Event – Planning together to improve local well-being: What works? on Thursday 2 March 2017 at Cardiff City Stadium.

Delegates heard from a range of speakers including Christopher Stevens, Head of Planning and Partnership Branch and Claire Germain Head of Local Government Partnerships, Welsh Government. We also heard from Liz Zeidler, Chief Executive from Happy City. Liz shared the learning from Happy City including their tools and approaches for sustainable well-being for all.

There were a number of breakout sessions with speakers from the Office for National Statistics, Welsh Government, Canal & River Trust, Coventry University, Sustainable Places Research Institute, Cardiff University, Office of the Children’s Commissioner, Office of the Older People’s Commissioner, Social Services Improvement Agency, Office of the Future Generations Commissioner and Cardiff Institute of Society, Health and Wellbeing (CISHeW).

The day was brought to a close with Sophie Howe, Future Generations Commissioner who shared her reflections on the draft assessments on local well-being and her thoughts and expectations for the coming year. This was followed by a Q&A session with the Commissioner.

We have updated our offering for disabilities data in InfoBaseCymru. We now hold data on the number of people with physical or sensory disabilities on local authority registers. This is available at local authority and local health board level.
