Communities of Practice (CoP): learning, sharing, growing

A Community of Practice (CoP) is a group of people who come together to share ideas, experiences and best practice around a common interest or purpose. A successful community not only empowers individual members to learn and grow, but can also generate real change / improvement through collective effort.

Knowledge shared = Knowledge2

We want to encourage this positive, constructive information sharing across the Welsh public sector in relation to all things data. We will therefore be hosting, and contributing to, a series of sector-led, data-focused communities of practice.

Our Communities of Practice (CoP)

We host the following CoPs:

Click on the name of the CoP for more information and details on how to join.

Each community will have an online 'home’ (group) on the ‘Knowledge Hub’, the UK’s largest digital platform for public service collaboration. We may also arrange regular, voluntary ‘meet ups’ to allow for more in-depth discussions.

For more information on our communities, including the rules and responsibilities we expect all our community members to follow, please see our Code of Conduct.

Become a champion?

We rely on a team of voluntary ‘Champions’ to make sure that our communities thrive online. Our champions are responsible for making sure there is activity and interest in the group on a regular, pro-active basis. This may involve adding new content, instigating discussions, encouraging participation and responding to comments / questions. If you would like to be a champion for one of our communities, please get in touch.

Have your say – what other topics should we focus on?

We are keen to establish further CoP, where there is appetite to do so. Please get in touch if there are any topics / areas you’d like to see a community focus on.
